Robin's fight against boring old English scents. An ongoing series.

Gentlemen,

Judging from the view count in the reviews department, you are too busy discussing tallow based soaps and similarly silly pastimes. By ways of a shameless plug, I would therefore like to draw your attention to a series of reviews I started about three months ago. I called it "Robin's fight against boring old English scents", because I ("Robin") got bored with "classic" scents. Now, as some of you may know, I am quite picky when it comes to scents, but not picky toward a higher quality, just toward my own personal preference. So in the spirit of The Great Lime Shoot Out I previously did, I am pleased to present you the current ranking of creams and soaps that do not smell boring:

1. Domenico Caraceni "1913" Shaving Cream (100%)
2. Penhaligon's "Blenheim Bouquet" shaving cream (95%)
3. Xpec "Original" shaving soap (92%)
4. Acca Kappa "White Moss" shave cream (92%)
5. Kniže "Ten" shaving soap (91%)
6. Lorenzo Villoresi Firenze "Uomo" shaving soap (85%)
7. Bronnley "James Bronnley" Shaving Cream (85%)
8. Mühle Rasiercreme "Sanddorn" ("sea buckthorn" shaving cream) (84%)
9. Kent "Skin Conditioning Shaving Cream" (75%)

It has been an interesting experience, for which I would like to thank the good people at The Different Scent in Berlin for providing me with the samples. I would also like to encourage you to submit your reviews, as the new review system needs as many of them as possible to obtain the most objective results.

Thanks. Just to avoid confusion: I am not affiliated with The Different Scent in any way. But I like the shop (which is conveniently located five minutes away from my home). Here are some pictures of the shop and its owners: The Different Scent - Zunft[wissen]. As stated previously, if you ever make it to Berlin, do pay them a visit. The owners are fantastic people.

Great post robin, and thanks for the informative research, I for one know that more than 1 of these is being added to my ever expanding "must try" list.

I have tried the Penhaligon's "Blenheim Bouquet" shaving cream and the matching after shave balm. I really enjoy them. Definitely not boring.
