Do you purchase online, or are you able to find soaps in-store?
There are so many different products out there that I would love to try, but almost nothing is available locally. Is the internet the best way to order, or am I missing something?

Mamabears,
I also made some melt/pour soap with base bought online.
In stores like Walmart, you can get VDH , @ CVS pharmacy C Williams plain.
I like the Kells soap I have, though the only soap I have to compare it to is VDH. I mentioned in a different post that I get all of my wet shaving supplies (minus straight razors) from bestgroomingtools.com. Best selection for my taste, good prices, incredibly quick shipping, and if you have any questions the owner is more than willing to help you out.
5 out of 5 in my book.
The internet is the best source especially if you want variety. Mama Bear's, SRD, as well as the other vendors mentioned on this site are a good place to start.
You may also want to look at Amazon.com. I have purchased several shave creams off of Amazon with free shipping on orders over $25.
Gentlemen,
Mama Bear, of course, and Straight Razor Designs have excellent soaps. Also, I recommend Connaught in the UK. Paul's selections are good and his prices great, especially for Mitchell's.
Regards,
Obie
From vendors that are well respected and even active on this site and on Badger and Blade. I buy both the traditional commercial soaps (TABAC, MWF, Cella) and the "boutique" soaps (Prairie Creations).
used to buy soaps from ebayers and others, but now i make my own soap. it is really easy and i have fragrances galore to choose from. such as banana cream, strawberry, bayrum, vanilla, coconut, coconut cream, patchouli and several others. if you are interested in trying it out, pm me and i will send a simple recipe to follow.
I buy mine online. I simply decide what I want to buy next, then Google it and buy from whichever site has what I want and does a good deal. Living in NZ, my aim is to cut down on shipping costs, so there's sometimes a bit of compromise involved, but googling is a good way to find online retailers. I've used BullGoose shaving before (really friendly guy, fair prices, and threw in some great samples, incl a full tube of TOBS cream because he couldn't provide a sample of that particular cream). My next purchase will be from Connaught shaving, as they have excellent prices and shipping deals for the two items I want. Seriously, just decide what you want then Google it. You'll find a site somewhere that does decent deals.
I buy my GFT soaps direct from the shop as I live in London. I also am planning on making a trip to TOBS as well, just to see what they have!
As Obie says, check out Connaught as well. I hadnt heard of them before and I've been having a browse and plan on getting a few things from them soon..!
Alternately, Fitjar soaps are highly regarded, though a little pricey. I got some today :D
And by that I mean I bought it off of Steelforge today. We will see how long it takes to get from England to South Carolina.
