I have a few tubs of cream that are I guess drying out and getting real thick like cake icing. How can I get it back like it was when it was new without ruining it?

The easy answer to your question is: "just add water". Please, use distilled or deionized water as tap water contains lots of other chemicals, mainly ions that that could, in some cases, kill lather. How much to add depends on how thick the cream is and how thick it was to begin with, just do not over do it ;-).

Do you also lather with distilled/deionized water? If not, then there is no reason to say that adding it resoften the cream will be a problem.Quote:

When I bought my tub of Body shop shaving cream it was suggested to me that I leave the lid off and let the cream dry out and use it like soap. I never tried this but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
I tried the distiled water and used a model car paint mixer that looks like a little popsicle stick on one end and a spoon on the other. That worked great, I think I get better lather and shave now than when it was new. BTW, it is trumpers coconut oil cream.
