Unfortunately, I've not tried it yet. I anticipate trying it in early May. I haven't heard the most flattering things about them, but I hope that they are acceptable because I love the scents. The original formulas were worth the money to ME. Please let us know what you find outQuote:

Unfortunately, 'word round the camp fire' indicates there is a lot of disappointed folks who feel the newly formulated product doesn't justify the expense. Many compare it Trumpers reformulated soaps, not bad, but not as great as it once was, and have D R Harris and AoS products in front of it.
Considering the price, particularly if you are paying for a bowl and not a refill puck of Penhaligons, the previous mentioned brands, Harris and AoS, you can purchase two for the price of one Penhaligons soap.
As always YMMV. If you do decide to purchase can you please let us know your thoughts.

I was researching this a couple of weeks ago and from what I gather, they are not as good as their tallow based predecessors. The Blenheim Boquet, however is meant to be superb, though I have not yet sampled it.

I have owned both the old tallow version and the new non-tallow version. I prefer the old version. The new version produced a nice, slick lather, however, it did not have as much cushion to me as the original. Also, the scent on the new version was not as pronounced as the original. The new version is not a bad soap, but I just don't feel it is a soap worth buying at its high price point.
Another thing, while the weight of each soap is the same, Penhaligon's changed the size and width of the new soaps. As such, the new soaps will not fit into the old bowls. I much preferred the old bowls and their custom engraving of either BB or EF on the lid. The newer bowls just have "Penhaligons" on them.
Why? When people you trust (whose opinions you share on many other products) post opinions about a product, is it inappropriate to report those opinions and make judgments on?Quote:
