modern soaps?

Hey everybody

Well been donig this for a few months now and have found some heavenly scents (CasswellMassey Almond,Trumpers Lime) and love them. But I wonder if anybody makes more modern-scented soaps. Not to offend any of our venerated elders, but some of these soaps I've used have an "old" scent. Ive actualy found a couple of outstanding latherers that simply offend my nasal passages. I know Calvin Klein has an Eternity aftershave lotion(I own), and in my opinion it is a classic scent. Is there any of these people that make soaps or creams? or maybe is there any of the good soapmakers that have more modern scents, for the younger crowd. Im 26 so Im not looking for anything Spongebob-esque, but maybe Armani Black Code, Calvin Klein Eternity, Kenneth Cole Reaction. Something along those lines. Thanks and no harm meant.

Interesting question...I never thought about this until now, but I wonder if you could get unscented shave cremes and mix in your favorite scents in it...the caveat that you have to work around is that some of the fragrances you like may have more alcohol in them than you'd care to put in a shaving creme.

Don't know how you'd do this with harder soaps though.:shrug:

Mama Bears Soaps( which are excellent in any form) have men cologne soaps and one of them is a Black Code inspired soap, Ive been looking at getting it to accompany my Black Code body wash and cologne. Also they have a Aqua Di Gio, and Dublin tweed one too. heres the link Men's Cologne

The Gentlemens Quarter (The Gentlemen's Quarter - Shaving, Bath and Body, Skincare, Home Fragrance, Brushes, Creams, Soaps) also has an Armani Black Code. I haven't used any of their products (yet), but I've heard good things about them.

+1 for mama bear's soaps...if you've never tried it, you're in for quite a treat :) I used a puck for about six months before it ran out.

or Sue Bee on E-bay has fantastic "New" scents and her soaps rock...even in hard as nails water

It's not so much that these are old scents but classic ones. They have always been popular and if people of all ages turned their noses up at them they wouldn't sell them.

Well, I can see your point, but if it was good enough for my Granddaddy it's good enough for ... Hey! You damn kids get out of my flowers! And take your dog, too! You'll get your ball back if my flowers are all OK tomorrow, and not until!

Try the SRD sampler.

But I have come to the conclusion that unless
you find one you love to the exclusion of all others
keep a puck of quality unscented shave soap in the rotation
so you can apply a cologne or some other stink-um juice
like AX..

I happen to still have a nose and the kids that use
a cacophony of junk from deodorant, to hair gel, to
pre-shave, to shave soap to aftershave, to cologne,
extra minty toothpaste and top it off with gargle
blaster mouth rinse and laundry detergent and that daft
dryer foo... well they tend to smell terrible and make
me sneeze...

What ever happened to soap water and a little bit of
something behind the ear or neck where only your lover
can tell for sure that you have something on when you
don't.

Having tried a few Mama Bears soaps now, I'd recommend them. Theres a plethora of scents available and they make excellent shaving soaps and give a nice thick lather. Good stuff!
