What other brands of soap/creams do you use?
Do you use your own soap often or, just when testing new recipes?

i have only bought 3 pucks of soap since i started shaving with a straight, i have made all of my shaving soap, the good soap i shave with the bad soap i shower with.
Let me ask you guys a question, I'm in the process of testing soap for a vendor. They primarily sell Goat's milk soap, which I thought would be a good idea for shave soap. I got some samples and they fall flat. They seem to lather fine in the dish, but when I transfer it to a scuttle, they loose it, when you put it on your face, it's thin and tends to disappear rather quickly. What could be the cause of this, and what could help.
I can give a list of ingredients if you like...Thanks for any help you can provide..
Well from my experience goats milk make a great moisturizing soap, but not the best lathering soap.
I have choose not to try to make a shaving soap with goats milk a base for that reason.
I will say that I'm planing on playing with the formulations to add a little goats milk to soap for a very dry skin soap.
Now I'm pretty new at making soap so some of the more experienced guys might be able to give you some more advice,
I would go ahead and put a ingredients list up though.
