but it's clear!!!! Quick to the shave cave :aargh:
Blade dullers?
Thems those folks, those little fellas who sneak into ya house when you're asleep and play with your razors by grinding them in the sand.
Gee, I heard that shave soaps and creams (not the "clear" ones of course) are actually made of liquefied metallic particles designed to be smooth yet dulling??? lmao
Brock :gaah:
It looks almost identical to this
Super Slide Shave Gel from The Real Shaving Co.
I know that this in an old post, but I'm still experiementing with different things and ran across this one.
I'm odd in that I look for the least expensive way to accomplish a job. I know sometimes it tempting to pay a bit more for "nice", but I'm just too cheap. I'm willing to err on the side of "less expensive, but adequate for the job" rather than pay a huge premium on something that only has a small benefit.
I like Williiam's Mug Soap. Cheap, nice, effective, imminently adequate. I use a Shavette style blade with the 1/2 blades that I can order in bulk for about 5 cents per blade (I'm too lazy to strop and hone).
However, a friend who works at a supply house for places like Bath and Body works and such brought me a tube of this American Crew shave cream. Not the exact one I saw here, but very close (mine's not clear...it's white).
It smelled a bit like Noxzema (if anyone's ever smelled that) and tingled a bit on my face. I used it in place of the shave soap. It was...different...but gave me a good shave. I'm going to enjoy using it, but since I'm cheap I probably won't buy it for myself when I can get the William's soap for about $2.00 for cake of soap.
Any thoughts (or advice) on using the creams in place of soaps?
Thanks,
Goatee
I use the shave gel because I have a beard and being able to see which individual hairs I am cutting help me get that crisp "lined" look on my beard. I only use it for the lining part. Afterwards, I use a shave cream and a brush for two passes, WTG and ATG. It works for me.
Their pre shave oil is really quite good. Never used anything else of theirs however.
