P.160 - Is it really a good as people say?

I received in the mail today a small sample of P.160, saddlesoap and neetfoot oil. I was curious to know what all this buzz about P.160 was about so I opened the lid of the container to take a sniff. Wow! It had the smell of almonds/marzipan and a hint of maraschino cherries. I shaved with it today and found that despite being a soft soap it loaded onto my badger hair brush like a regular soap. In fact I wasn't even sure if I had loaded enough off it but it turns out that I did. My shave was so enjoyable that I went and ordered a brick of it today. Fortunately the vendor has a promotion of free shipping on orders of over $60. So what did I do? Well seeing that this stuff is supposed to be discontinued, I ordered two bricks! I'm looking forward to cutting it up and stashing it in my freezer for my sons to enjoy lol. Anyone else enjoying P.160 as well?

I use it from time to time... It's a fine product. It is as good as the next soap/cream in my opinion... but I don't think there is anything magical about it. If it went away I probably wouldn't miss it though. There are so many out there that I'm sure I'll never run out of great soaps to try.

I absolutely love P160, it's all that as far as I'm concerned.

The P160 Morbido & Duro soaps are excellent :)

I would recommend you also try Cella; it is very similar to the P160 Morbido, excepting that it, for me, it is an ever finer performer !

For me, Cella is the best performing shaving soap I have ever used :)

Also, Cella is still in production.

You might also want to give Valobra Almond soap a try to complete an Italian trio !

Hmmmmm.... I think what the OP meant was the saddle soap and neastfoot oil arrived with his shaving soap, not that he was using them all together to make lather. Just extra information, I'm guessing :shrug:

To tell you the truth I was thinking about getting the Valobra as well since it would not cost me extra for shipping but I was already at $70 with the two bricks lol. It's ok I'm sure I'll get to try it eventually.

That's correct I got some saddle soap and neetsfoot oil to clean a vintage strop and the soap was little gift from the sender.

Hello Phatman and others,

I think there are some differences between the P160 morbido and Crema Cella. The morbido is softer than the Crema Cella and moulds (is that the right word?) easier in a jar or cup. The P160 (both have much more a sweet (Marsipan) smell than the Crema Cella. And my experience with the Cream Cella is that I can lather twice or a third time easier with it than the P160.

It's as if the brush takes up more in the first place. Don't know about that because I have never actually figured out how long I do with the bricks.
