Classic Grooming Shave Soap from Scottish Fine Soaps ?

Has anyone tried this shaving soap? It is good or bad?

I have not tried this product. Some of our good friends in England might have, though, and I am sure they will post their thoughts about it.

I haven't tried this but my gut tells me to stay away from it. They have a stringently worded policy stating that absolutely no animal testing is done with their products. This means they are testing on you which is HIGHLY UNETHICAL IMHO.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the quality is probably tested by the company (QA/QC), not the customer. There are lots of soap makers in the world and the formula is pretty well-defined -- my guess is that the majority of those soap makers can also claim that they don't test on animals at any stage.

Having explicit good-practice goals on your company site saying that "A supporting document can be requested to substantiate all of the claims and targets made" seems pretty ethical to me, assuming they provide the documents when requested. :)

Unless something has changed, it is made in a tub at their warehouse (business location). The packaging has definitely had a facelift. The only one I was ever sensitive to was the Vanilla. I don't ever remember any QA type testing being done on these soaps from any outside source and don't know if that is a requirement. Lots of folks make pretty good soaps from their homes.

Many outfits do not use any animal testing. It's no big deal.

Yes, I agree, you are going out on a limb making all those assumptions. I find their claim to be unethical on it's face. The soap may be just fine but IMHO, the claim is only there to attract the esteem-deficient folks. Feeding that sort of thing is morally repugnant IMHO and my gut tells me not to patronize folks who do it. Once they get the message and give up the lunatic angle of advertizing they can be acceptable business partners.
