Proraso green :) yum yum yum.....I love the stuff. I have used many other soaps but proraso is my first favourite. MWF owns second place for me as well
Of the 40 soaps in my rotation, I am always most impressed with the masses of rich creamy lather I get from Razoroc soaps. I will definately restock these soaps (if the need ever arises).
I too really like Mama Bear's soaps. Over on B&B, there was a long string about soaps guys DID NOT like. MB and "melt and pour" soaps in general made most poster's lists. Not sure what they did like, but everyone has their opinion.
My only problem with MB is that 4 oz. last so long I have a few more years before I will use them up.
BTW - The face in my avatar is lathered with MB's Beau Brummel
Shave on!!
nothing beats my Mitchell's Wool Fat.
Cella and Razoroc both make thick creamy lather and smell great. Arko makes great lather but smells awful. MWF has been very average, it smells nice but I don't understand all the hype.
There are lots left for me to try. Proraso almost lathers itself but it seems thin and weak compared to the MWF I have been using. I see now the hype for MWF might just come from beginners like me. Looks like some Razoroc is in my future
MDC and Italian barber special edition Razorock XXX( Only 100 made ):tu
Mystic Water soaps, MJ Soaps, and MdC! Great natural, simple ingredients that provide great lather!
Dollar for dollar; I'd have to go with Godrej lime cream. Excellent price and shave ability for straight and DE.
MWF, Tabac,
Of the few that I have tried I have to say TOBS and good old Col. Conk
For soaps. MWF. I find it lathers easy for me. Creams would be Arko, or European Palmolive.
Scents aside? Cella and Arko tie for 1, but I have a very limited experience with soaps. I have yet to play with MWF, MDC, Tabac...the list goes on. I am embarrassed to call myself a wet shaver....
My list
1. Tabac
2. C&E Nomad
3. Arko
For me, I LOVE the SRD Vanilla Bourbon, makes a big pile of lather and smells so good I sometimes contemplate eating it!! Tabac is my close second...
For me, I'd have to say The Real Shaving Co. (RS) cream, Razo Rock, Tabac, Prep, CO Bigelow...
My favorites are:
Tabac
Cella
And Klarr Kabinett (bricks rose scent).
I find the Palmolive and Arko sticks hard to beat for ease of use, once I've grated or squished them into a ramekin.
With other soaps that I've not used for a while it often takes me two or three shaves to get the lather just right again, I need to readjust to the nuances of the soap and pay attention to get a great lather. Arko and Palmolive soaps may be very forgiving soaps or perhaps just rather well suited to my 'brain off' lathering.
VDH is my new favorite. Copious quantities of very creamy thick and slickery lather in under a minute.
DR Harris. Nothing else.
Another Tabac-devotee here! I haven't found anything that really explodes with lather and scent the way it does. I started with Proraso, which is good and easy to lather with, but Tabac takes the cake, er, soap.
Same here. I love the way Tabac shaving soap makes lather; and the lather itself is quite slick. Perfect for shaving with any type of DE or straight razor.
