    Default TwinLuxe

I just received my TwinLuxe Smooth Shaving Cream and their post shave balm. Not sure what to think of it yet as it feels strange and unnatural using a brush without it being wet but both shaves I have had gave me no irritation and were pretty close. It goes on sort of heavy and sticky like a glue and vaseline blend but does seem to stand the hairs up stiff to get them primed to cut. One complaint I have other then the oddity of it is it seems to not let the razor glide easily causing me to sometimes use inappropriate force during my XTG. As well i does not like to rinse off the blade between cuts.

Any one else with have any experience with the TwinLuxe line? The stuff isn't cheap at all and since you don't dumb it down with water I reckon it will get used up pretty quickly. Perhaps it is better for a DE or cartridge then a straight. The balm is nice.

    Heya Groovyd.

I'm a huge fan of TwinLuxe shaving products. They had a sale on Gilt.com last week and I scooped up a few tubs of their cream along with their serum and balm. I had the similar feeling as you encountered at first with the shave cream...not using a wet brush. But I gave it a try and continued to use it the way they recommended. The main outcome though is that every shave I have gotten with their cream, it has been THE BEST shave ever. Skin is also very nourished and not irritated or dry. I think they are trying to "revolutionize" the way people shave and from what I am experiencing, I can understand why. Its simply cuz their products are really high performance products meaning you will get the results they advertise their products to do.

As far as their balm, yes I couldn't agree more that it is makes my skin feel buttery soft afterwards without the greasy feeling most balms leave. You should try their Booster Serum as a pre-shave product. Its like night and day.
