well i just used my arko stick for the first time. i ordered 3 sticks for $10 shipped to my U.S. address and face lathered with the stick....the scent is kinda strong but i dont mind it...kind of a strong ivory soap type smell...but the lather was really nice. i can see the attraction for a cheap soap that has a nice lather. i will probably place mine into one of those push up plastic containers that are used to make your own stick since i dont really like the paper-wrapper type presentation.
overall i like it.

i noticed that shave sticks work better when there is some stubble on the face....i shave 6 days per week and usually that doesnt leave a large amount of stubble....sunday night is when i have two days stubble and is a better night for shave sticks. so far i have tried arko and de vergulde hand, palmolive, and latoja sticks.
all nice stuff.

I use Arko 99% of the time, not because it is cheap, but because it is good, well also because it is cheap.

So I had a shave I didn't really need, just to see how it lathered up. At first I used too much water, but when I swirled the brush on the stick again and whipped that in, it was great. I like the smell, too, although it is a bit odd and not like any soap I've tried before.
I don't agree about it being cheap though - the soap itself is cheap, but my face is so smooth I'm going to have to take it into town tonight and pour beer into it.
