i was looking for some shaving cream that i could buy at my local tescos and whilst i was there i noticed that they sold some king of shaves items £2 how could i resist just another thing to add to my collection, does anyone else use any products by these and are they any good or are they just another publicity stunt?

There is no substitute for a good soap and the oil can serve its purpose underneath it.
After shave balm is a must, for me anyways and its worth trying out the nivea for men range of products, as Im in the UK and find most of my regular products locally ,thats what works for me....try it out...

what shops in the uk do you get most of your items from i am basically looking for some cheaper items and then i can leave the more expensive ones for a special occasion.

IMO the King of Shaves range is not really worth the money, I never got on with them whenever I tried them.
Depending what your budget is, here are some options.
Palmolive
In europe we get different stuff to the USA, it's in green packaging and is branded as 'Classic'. You can get shave soap sticks, and cream in a tube that looks like a toothpaste tube. The shave sticks are about £0.69 in ASDA and the tubes of cream are under £2. Either of them work really great and are super products for the money. I've never tried the cans of shaving foam, and don't plan to. I've seen the shave sticks and tubes of cream in Tescos and Sainsburys too.

Proraso
I don't know of anywhere that sells this in the UK other than mail order. Buy it from either of these 2 suppliers, the tubes of Proraso Cream are just over £5. Also you can get harder cream/soap in a plastic pot, IMO this is better than the soft cream as you use it just like a hard soap. Proraso is superb, I would buy it if it cost 2 or 3 times the price.

More Expensive
From here the prices go up a bit, as you can see buy browsing at the TGS website above. I was in my local 'House of Fraser' store recently and found they sold L'Occitane CADE shaving soap. This isn't cheap at over £30, but most of the cost is the fancy metal bowl it comes in! They also sell refil pucks for £7.50 which you can just put in a sealable plastic pot like the ones you store tea or coffee in, you can buy the pots for £1 or less in most supermarkets in the UK. Same with buying Trumpers/AOS/Harris/T&H soaps from TGS, just buy the refil puck of each product and you pay around £7.50 instead of £15 for the same thing in a wooden bowl. Hard soaps are well worth buying IMO as they last way longer than tubes of cream - so the cost per shave is usualy a lot less.
I've tried many types of soaps and creams over the last few months and I have to say L'Occitane CADE is one of the 2 products I've found that I would happily live with and use every day (the other being Tabac). I seriously love this soap!

well thank you very much for your input, i have seen hundreds of creams/soaps and items that i would like to buy i have basically got some Trumpers soap, trumpers Cream, some king of shaves oil that cost hardley anything and some cheaper Palmolive basically just to get me through Xmas as i need to save some cash, the biggest problem i had up untill today is finding some 'makes' that were cheap and ok as i never know weather these items are USA based or UK based, Ramble ramble

There is a lot of soap and creams on ebay, that is where i gfot my proraso. There is a seller who has some of the red proraso on there. Also a seller called jonny rainbows does a lot of the higher price soaps at reasonable prices, (eg r&g l'homme for c. £8)
