I recently received my order of all 12 samples of straight razor designs shaving soap. I tried out the sandalwood this morning and what a great smelling soap not overpowering and provided a nice slick lather. I did two passed WTG with my new merkur DE with little irritation, but that was probably my fault. I will continue to use it until it is gone I am already thinking that I will add this to my lineup. I still have 11 others to try out before I place an order for a full container.
I've got the sampler too. It's a nice little deal.
And I'm with you on the sandalwood.

I always wanted to try the srd soaps again I may have to try the samples
It is worth it to try the samples out they are inexpensive and smell great.
I've got them coming in tomorrow with my scuttle and nani 12k. I'm excited.
Is it difficult to load up a brush on the sample size?

The only thing missing from SRD's vanilla bourbon is a matching aftershave! I blended my vanilla bourbon with Mama Bear's aftershave scented with vanilla cream back when Mama Bear's still had some aftershave balm in stock and that layered very nicely. If I get it again I'm really not sure what I'd layer it with. It's such a unique scent that I find it difficult to pair with aftershaves.
I just finished my shave and what a wonderful scent and great lather. I will be adding this to my soap line up. Looks like I may have the start of SAD.
it impressed me also if you read my other post .. i admit at first i didnt think it was gonna be a scent of choice but i like it after using it ... i was in store smelling all of them today , i brought back a lavender & opus sample to try .. after reading online about them the opus was the last one i thought id want to try but i unscrewed the lid and said " i gotta try this " it reminded me of my longleaf tobacco chewing days ... i hope to try it in the morning ..Quote:

The Vetiver is great as well. I do wish srd would make some after shave to pair with their soaps (maybe in time)
I have so many soaps that I put myself on a shave sabbatical.

They are great I don't really need a post shave other than an alum block. Right now I am in Afghanistan at about 7000 feet and its cold and windy right now. One of the problems I had using a razor in the past is it would dry out my face. Not with SRD soaps my face feels like I put lotion on it all day.

I think it will be tough to find something that will match it. Anyway I give the SRD soap a thumbs up.
