It says on the site to use it with a badger hair brush, but i dont have one of those in India neither are they available. Does it really matter ?? I mean does the lather get affected ??
I use a badger brush with creams and soaps. A Thater fan with a little more backbone than some for soap and I use badgers made by gssixgun on all of the T&H and other creams.
Here's a video by Lynn making lather with a badger brush. He's using XPec, but it's exactly the same for T&H. Hope this helps.
Edit: Sorry this got a little fragmented. You said badger brushes weren't available and my brain read boar brushes, so I was extolling the benefits of a badger.
You can use a boar or other brush, they should work as well, just more stiff and a little scratchy and may take a little more patience and effort to get the lather and get it even on the face. Just kind of depends on the size of the brush.

I have never understood the point of boar brushes, but then again my face is usually quite sensitive to anything that isn't.... well, soft.
You should be OK making lather using any brush with the T&H range of creams. My favourite has to be 1805, with Grafton not far behind at all.

The thing is that you guys being in the UK have ready access to shaving soaps and creams and high end products. Here in India, a badger hair brush wont even be seen anywhere, not even at premium high end barber shops in the most posh hotels.
THEY JUST DO NOT USE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All we have are horse hair and boar hair, that too of the low-medium range quality :(
It was a stroke of luck that i found someone selling T&H creams in India,picked up 2 tubs from him. West Indian lime and Grafton :)

I haven't tried the Grafton so can't comment on the scent. However I do have the T&H Trafalgar and also the Rose...I can say they are great creams. Great cushion, glide and easy to lather. I'd recommend them :)
And with regards to your brush issues, I use my boar more than any other and it works great with these T&H creams.
I have one made by 'Art of Shaving'. It came as part of a set and has been sat in a cupboard for ages - I have no use for it.Quote:
