Just got some Mama Bear soaps the other day. I need to use them from the tubs they came in but they aren't melted as you probably know. I just want to know the best method to melt them down in the tubs they came in.
Thank You

I don't melt my soaps, so I can't answer that; but I wanted to say that my soaps from Mama Bear are lathered in the tub with hot water applied in the tub(experiment with the amount that suits you), I sometimes "grate" a little of the soap in the tub with the remaining puck; it loads easier on my softer brushes. I let the remaining lather in the tub dry, as is, for a day , before I cover.
Aren't Mama Bear's soaps melt 'n poured in the tub? If so just load the brush in the container. Hirlau's description is pretty close to what I do as well.
I melt mine into the tin in the microwave and have had good results. 30-45 seconds I all it takes. As mamma bear says on her site ... Be careful when melting soap some oils have a low flash point and the soap can lose its scent if heated to to high a temperature.
That is what I want to avoid, losing anything from the soap. Mine came as cellophane wrapped pucks in the plastic tub, not poured in the tub.
Just to be clear, I only order the pucks by themselves, without the MamaBear container (much cheaper). I like to put the pucks in a clear Pyrex container. I have never ordered their container, but the photos show a wrapped puck in a tub.
I like the 1.5 oz pucks.
You can use short bursts in the microwave, about 10-15 seconds each to avoid problems.
Yeah sorry I didn't report back I got it done with about three 10 sec microwave bursts.
Good to hear that it worked out well.
Soap really get melt in the tub its really irritating, only thing we can do is to avoid this because we can't stop it... anyways MamaBear is better than others
