the Sandalwood scent is pretty strong though, and is right at my max limit for skin irritation, so if you are sensitive to strong FO's then I would suggest a different scent...[/QUOTE]
You are right about the sandalwood scent. It is stronger than most. I have the matching aftershave balm, which is too strong for my wife's approval. If you don't really like sandalwood, then this scent formula may be too strong.
True what Gammaray says about the strength of the sandalwood scent. Its the only AoS creme I own, and I use it from time to time, and have no complaints. Not a bargain product, So steer clear if you are looking for a value, but it works fine and it smells nice.
I guess some may find them pricey, but I find that I use much less of the product (compared to other creams) to produce LOTS of lather.
Said another way, I can get more than twice the number of shaves with an ounce of AOS as I can with an ounce of any other product I've tried (Proraso, Bigelow, Tabac, and otherp).
AOS was the first shaving cream I purchased. I really want to get some more but there are other ones to check out. Anyway, I do not think you would be disappointed in the experience and performance of the products. If you are willing to pay that much I would also suggest Castle Forbes. It is a little bit more but worth the money.
I have the lemon. It's really good stuff, and I'm kinda picky...
Really fresh scent, lathers well, rinses clean, very slick, a little goes A very long way..
I like to make lathers with it and manma bears awakenings soap for a nice menthol effect..
I have the Lavender scent, and while it smells great, I constantly fail to make a good lather with it. It could be errors on my part but I make great lather with TOBS and the body shop cream, along with Proraso.
My first cream was AOS lavender as well and I was very happy with it. I didn't think I would ever use it all up. In fact, it took almost a year. After that tub ran out I began experimenting with other soaps and creams, some more expensive, many less, but still purchase AOS creams as they work very well!
I picked up a new tub of sandalwood and a bottle of oil yesterday.
Good stuff!
Regarding lather making...I find this stuff to be the easiest to lather of anything else I have tried.
