Has anyone tried any of their soap. It is difficult to order. They are always sold out, but I did manage to get some and It may be my favorite. I am still testing. Very slick and cushiony.
I've not used it but want to now. I just checked their site and everything is sold out.
It seems they are making tiny quantity every time and they say as soon as it is available they sell all of it within few hours. I too am trying to get some with no luck as I would like to try it.
I have some and it is very nice stuff. Problem is that ridiculously tiny jar it comes in. What are they thinking?
It seems in fact they are trying to make an exclusive soap of this product. Maybe they are not that big and cannot ensure a regular production as the soap is continuously sold out.
It's a good soap, but in my opinion, overrated. You can easily get the same results with classics like Tabac, MWF, or anything else you now consider your favorite. Don't feel bad if you miss out on a sale or feel like you've been cheated. I think hype is driving sales right now.
Don
It's a superior soap in performance and the scents I've tried were excellent albeit a bit mild for me. Should be loaded with a relatively dry brush(shake out excess water) and then the water added afterwards little at a time. Start off with too wet a brush and it explodes into something too foamy for real cushion.
It's not magically better than other premium soaps, but it's in the same league as Calani, Czech and Speake, MdC, Klar Seifen. At this point, preference is a matter of taste. One other item, I used it every day for about two weeks and found it had superior moisturizing properties for the skin.
Don't know why it's so hard to get a hold of, but it's fairly priced and the service is excellent.
This afternoon it seems I have been successful in placing an order for this soap. It seems some of them are available again and I ordered a couple of what they currently have on stock.
Now I have to wait and see how this shaving cream will perform. I will keep you informed about my tests.
Just ordered one soap. Only one other, at this moment, was available out of six. Will have to print out their lathering instructions. They are quite explicit on procedure.
If I spoke Italian I would know what they are out of :<0)
It seems they are having three soaps available out of seven. After many failed attempts, I successfully managed to order a couple of these shaving soaps. It will be the very first time for me to try it. After having heard many good remarks about this soap on SRP forum (including not so good ones) I am quite curious to try it.
They also have an English page about "lathering instruction". You can read it here: How to lather - PannaCrema
As you can see, nothing special and nothing more than what we all know already. :)
I must commend Panna Crema. I ordered yesterday and Pay Paled them immediately (love their built in currency converter.) Email this morning said it was shipped about 12:45AM my time (pacific). I wish I could say the same for a number of American suppliers, both direct and via eBay. Despite Panna Crema's low or limited production they are seemingly well organized.
Same for me. I ordered my soaps yesterday and this morning I received a mail telling me they shipped my soaps. So far, it seems they offer a good and fast delivery service.
Now let's wait for the soaps to be delivered. Unfortunately I am traveling right now and I will see them next week when I will go back home.
Came back home and I found a small package waiting for me. The two PannaCrema shaving soaps I ordered some time ago have been delivered and now I can test, for the very first time, these two creams many wet shavers are talking about.
As for the package, it is quite disappointing: a simple and very anonymous bag with no mention about the sender. Inside, of course, two small plastic jars containing the soaps I ordered. I will see soon how this soap performs with a brush and a real shave.
I finally used PannaCrema shaving cream and here you can find my review for "San Francesco": http://straightrazorpalace.com/soaps...ml#post1193701
A very good shaving cream but, in my opinion, a little overrated if compared to price and performance. However, a satisfactory and very good product. This "San Francesco" cream has a very pleasing smell which I personally like a lot.
Few days ago arrived the new batch of four frags:
Namasté, Nostalgiga, Lavandotto, Vetiver
New jar, more weight, new layout ... and formulation!!!
INCI:
Aqua, Stearic Acid, Tallow, Porassium Hydroxide, Cocus Nuciera Oil, Buryrospermum Parkii Butter, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Frangrance (Parfum), Kaolin, Ascorbic Acid.
Never used at the moment, but concistency is harder ... and smells better!!
Here I sit. Waiting for my Panna Crema.:aargh: It was shipped on the 23rd so I'm betting it will be here sometime this week. If it's like the other Italian soaps I have tried it ought to be a great product.
I ordered one tub on the 20th and received it this week. I felt fortunate that the package made it to my place because there was only one label with my address and it was mostly peeled off the package. I had Namaste from the last batch and I bought Lavandotto from this batch. My impression is that this performs even better than earlier batches that also performed very well. A big A+ from me.
Ok, my Panna Crema arrived today (Nostalgia, Vetiver and Lavandatto) but then so did some Al's Shaving Cream (Saigon) and Penhaligon's. (Severe SAD). Which one to try first? Decisions, decisions.
Oh how I understand! It 'hard to choose among so many perfumes. I have San Francisco and I can confirm that it is a good cream handmade tallow. This scent is very nice and different from other classics. Namaste but I also had a very sweet smell to my nose and I gave it to a friend. The foam produced is of good quality 'and very protective for the skin. But I also think that there are higher MDC and Pears soap, for example, are unsurpassed for me.
