    Warm up:
Wide grip pull ups, 5, 5, 5, 5 ( I'm about 238lb right now so I'm not banging out reps on the these )
    Deadlifts: 195# x 10, 225# x 8, 305# x 6, 405# x3, 430# x1,
    T-bar rows: 225# x 12, 270# x 10, 315# x 3 reps x 2 sets
    nautilus pull overs: 80# x 10, 90# x 10, 100# x 10, 100# x 10

Thanks again carl for starting this thread. I really enjoyed reading your workout. Excellent job, and keep up the great workouts!
Wow, that's heavy on the deadlifts and T-Bar rows. I like T-Bar rows, but I've got to drive too far to get to a gym that has a T-bar thingy. I don't even TRY to go heavy any more, although my weights are heavy for me. I'm only a little fellow, and old, with bad knees...

Well done. You know, sits do stuff all. You know, your ab muscles can't be increased in size, not like biceps, etc. I read the other day you need to run something like 80ks in a month to lose a kilo of fat in a month, and that losing fat is MOSTLY about diet...

I reached my target heart rate today, did 4 passes with the razor instead of 2 - I'm exhausted...

Oh, by the way, for all of us who can't run any more, I also read that running ten ks burns the SAME amount of calories as WALKING ten ks. BUT, running for 1/2 and hour is more effective than walking for 1/2 an hour simply because you cover more ground.

Well, without boring you all with the details, I did upper body and abs today: bench presses, rowing machine, machine crunches, heavy dumbbell shrugs, curls and triceps pushdowns. Giving my poor legs a break after a brutal workout Sunday and a big fish/hike trip Tuesday (I was off for election day).

After finding out that muscle burns fat, I have really been lifting hard trying to test that theory, and am slowly gaining muscle mass (probably about 15 lbs. in the last 2 years) while losing fat overall. At a certain age, you either move it or lose it.

Walk 50 feet get another beer,
Work on grip strength to open beer,
Walk 50 feet deep knee bend to sit down,
repeat as many times as needed.

I used to power lift, now the farm is all the exercise I desire and it keeps me fit enough,
I do still stretch daily (AM Yoga go ahead and laugh but try it some time)

Props to all of you that get out there and do it.

Carl, thanks for the thread, you guys are renewing my interest in getting back into a workout routine. To quote an old friend, Sgt. Glass, I need to "get up early and throw some steel on the bench." Farewell snooze button, I will miss you.

edit: I do like pixel's and Jimmy' s routine, might have to give those a try if all else fails.
