Does anyone have/use a FitBit that has the heart rate monitor? I have some questions

Anyone have/use a Fitbit that monitors heart rate?

The website doesn't have answers to my question. No chat feature there and I don't want to join a community to get a question answered.

Here's my question: Does the unit alert the user somehow if actual heart rate goes above a certain zone?

Could the user set a heart rate upper zone and have the unit alert them if the HR goes above that set zone? I'm wondering if it could be used as a biofeedback aid. HR goes above a zone, alerts the user and user works to lower HR to below the alert zone.

So how do you lower your heart rate??????????

My wife has one. She uses an app that keeps track of everything and I know she can see her hr in real time. I just texted her to see if there is an alarm feature. I would check the App Store for your phone to see if there is an app with that feature, I would assume there is.

I think Chris is referring to heart rate during a workout. If the target heart rate is surpassed, less exertion should lower the rate.

So the wife's app doesn't have an alarm but made it sound like there is one. Good luck.

Chris, my fiance is into these kind of fitness devices, and wanted the fitbit watches for ages. However....when she did some research her opinion was that the devices had pretty poor reliability for accurate heart rate detection at higher intensity exercise.
I know this doesn't directly address your question of "alerting to a certain range of heart rate", but it might be worth looking into the pit falls of relying on a device to keep you in a target range.
