This video changed the game for me. For one stropping got much easier on my hands and arms. It seems to me that a tight strop makes controlling pressure more challenging. I now have a very loose hanging strop, less pressure, and get the best edges ever. I also now use Liam Finnegan's Undilicot technique recently discussed which has eliminated my over cooked edges. I recently purchased a Shuobudani and used it to follow my Coticule. For weeks the results were terrible. I could not get a smooth shave. Finishing on water with the Shuobudani was creating a burr. Since finishing on light slurry and using a looser strop edges are great. On both Sheffield and my seemingly harder Solingen blades.

Wow... I've been holding mine very tight with almost no pressure down on the blade. I guess I ran across the paddle strop and figured I needed to mimic the ridged stropping surface.... and then I found this video first.

I wonder how many have noticed how lightly Mr Finnegan is holding that razor. :hmmm:
