Snake Plissken? Is this a deleted scene?
Haha I know its not real, but she breadknifed that AOS razor on her leather bookbag flap/strop! Then tripple folded the edge. Reminded me of Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglass Quaid going to Recall for some reason.

Lol No matter what she is doing it is hard to watch. Haha
You've got to kidding me.:rofl2::banghead::gaah:
Bob
Aptly titled thread. Lets all "role play" makes life so much more tolerable.
It's a battle between the video itself and the comments below, as to which is the more bizarre.
I won't say it was a waste of time - it did lead me to Google what 'ASMR' actually is. It seems that those videos are designed to evoke a sensory reaction in the viewers, acting as a therapeutic tool to alleviate stress, anxiety and insomnia. Not sure that particular video had the correct effect on me - the thought of that razor dragging over my face was more stress-inducing than stress-relieving.
Wow I got to around 11 minutes before I wanted a bus to run her over. I don't know what was wise, 3 minutes of rubbing and groping the razor or trying to snap the blade in half on the notebook (I can't begin to call that stropping).
If I wasn't reading and only half watching that would have been some of the most wasted minutes of my life. I have been more productive being deliberately unproductive. LOL. My 4 year old asked what I was watching. I didn't have an answer.
I need to work on my stropping technique because I've never been able to get the proper scraping sound when I strop mine. I also thought her lather was a bit watery, but that's probably just me. I think I got a couple nicks just watching the video.
That's not relaxing; it's distressing! Aside from the stropping, she held the razor in a vice-like grip, had a terrible blade angle and the noise as it scraped whatever she was pretending to shave...! I though it was meant to be shaving, not flaying!
Plus the fact that she spent about 5 mins stroking every object she picked up was really frustrating and I was convinced she was going to slice her fingers open. Until I actually saw the stropping, of course.
I just have one question. What's wrong with people?
Without question the most assinine Vid I have ever seen.
OH MY!!! GASP!
You mean that's not the way your suppose to do it.........?
:rofl2:
Gentlemen,
Why do I get the feeling this young lady is putting us on with that video?
Thanks ?? I am not really sure I am glad you shared this :<0)
For some reason from about 6:38 on I forgot this video was about shaving.
I too have posted things I regretted.
I would like to have that bit of my life back! :rofl2:
Lol...I am sorry boys. No way I was suffering through that alone.
I really was looking for the first video in the OP. I seen it in a thread here something along the lines of "why did you start using a straight". I could never find it so I went looking. Well, I found it. The weirdo role playing video was in the section to right that usually has videos related to the one you are watching. Curiosity got the best of me... Then I shared it with you all so we could all feel the same way.
I try to avoid anything that includes "role play".
I wonder how much she charges for a scraping.
Or how booked up she is.
Someone could roll play enjoying getting a shave with that now face filleter haha
Wow! Just Wow! Watching her strop(?) that razor was about like watching someone beat a defenseless animal. I like her concern for the client's comfort but after that stropping I seriously doubt anyone (or anything) was likely to get cut. I was also quite impressed with her Sweeny Todd grip on the razor. She looked like she was gripping a K-bar to stab someone.
Initially, I was a bit confused about why she was showing pictures of unshaven men but after observing her technique I understood. If this is the standard, little wonder people think straight razors are dangerous.
I didn't hear her mention the safety word but I, for one would have used and abused the safety word with impunity. Banana, Banana, for the love of God woman Banana!:)
I don't even know what i just watched...

Oh dear....
Talking of manliest shaves, I thought this guy was reigning champ?

This has always been my favorite straight razor shaving video on youtube. The kid's got swagger. Straight shave with a butt and some whiskey before going to his job as a bus driver, nice. He appears to know his way around a razor but I've got to admit seeing someone reach across their face (i.e. shave their entire face without switching hands) makes me a bit nervous

And here I thought that I'd already posted about the most 'Manly' shave of all times!
http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...stropping.html
The last two vids have been at the top of my favorites lists for years... The Bells/beer slugging dude goes at it, ATG, WTG, XTG all in the same pass and a few times in the stroke. "Just a Lit'l blood there.. nuttin' worry 'bout..."
I know you titled the thread 'Disturbing' but I didn't think it'd be THAT disturbing. I started it at 11:17 and lasted only 11:50.
I found this one interesting...

On a side note... (and not to be creepy), if anyone gets a chance to sit and listen to RandyDance talk you through honing you'll get the same "zone out" feeling as these ASMR youtube vids. I swear he could calm a jumper off a bridge in about 3 minutes.
that's a little longer than my first pass takes. It takes me 4 minutes to make two passes, the second pass is more of a tight skin blade buffing kind of pass.
I shave every day in the morning and have a bus to catch. Never like it to take more than 5 minutes for two passes including strop and lather time.
Well thanks for that, Redcane - that's another 11.5 mins of my life I will never get back again. Really, thanks...:banghead:
Regards,
Neil
Add this to the list of "disturbing".

I have no idea what that guy is doing on that page, but it only very vaguely resembles shaving.
One of the most pitiful things on youtube is people claiming to "review" products so that they can attempt to either get paid to put up videos for manufacturers, or get free stuff.
Definitely, a lot of disturbances in the force in this thread!
