I would do some more research, if I were you. Most times you get what you pay for. Who knows, your research may reveal that it's a great strop or maybe just a pig's ear. Good luck in finding the perfect strop.
Might be ok, a quick Google search shows others opinions. I believe you get what you pay for. Neil Miller at the stropshop does starter strops now and again at a very good price, this would be your best bet.
That price converts to almost $40 USD. I have a very good strop that was right around there price wise. You do need to look at material and size as part of you decision making process, also some reviews from people who would know. The thread is a good start. There have been a couple of threads in the past and they don't appear too favorable. With that in mind you may want to look at other sources for strops. There are decent strops in that price range, in the US for sure, however shipping them very far makes the prices a little more.
Hadrada79 I think you may be wasting your money with a haryali "London" strop. I am thinking they are from Pakistan and if they perform as well as "Buckingham" Paskistan striaght razors you may as well just throw you money in the trash bin. Just my opinion.
I have various strops. From very cheap to high end. I have yet to find a difference in the shave. They all pop hair the same after, now the kanayama is a very light draw, my black latigo is a heavy draw. Same hht bump off the stone using the same lap count and same shave. So what exactly is the difference then? Now the most profound thing Ive ever used for stropping is a waxed flax linen vintage I have. THAT makes a huge difference, but leather? I have not seen it. Not trying to say you should buy the cheapest now. There are other reasons, the nicer strops look nicer and the hardware is nice as well. These can be more appealing and I agree with that. People should be proud of their tools. But does anyone have any proof that X leather or strop is superior to Y leather?
I have seen some objects being sold as leather that when you strop, it feels like you are stropping on a rough cardboard and even left some heavy striations on the blade. Cheap sometimes is simply that and junk may be junk or lower quality.
Have fun.
herold seem good.
A cheap poorly made strop is more trouble then its worth. I own one that never gets used anymore. Dulls the blade instead of keeping it sharp -.-
Thanks for all your help, il have a think and look else where thanks
