btw this also not only taught me when stropping was done, but that I prefer the free starter strop I got with my order from Tony Miller more than the Red Latigo.
I get that draw and "sticky" edge quicker and more consistently, softer leather wrks for me.

I have noticed that the results from stropping using a consistent number of passes will still differ from day to day. If this thumb test is a better measure, then I would like to try it. I am attaching a picture (I never purported to be an artist, so it is what it is) with an Option A or Option B. Which is correct?

Greg,
Option B is how I do it. I sometimes angle my thumb at a 45 degree angle, sort of halfway between your two diagrams. :)
Be careful, though. Light, light touch.

Heh, heh. You go to https://mail.google.com.
Seems our corporate web blocker software is configured to block you if you go in through Google's home page, but not through the direct secure URL.

I tried this with a newly Lynn honed razor that is shaving me GREAT and i didnt feel any sticking at all.

This is a test of stropping and honing quality, not honing quality alone.
I use option B.

Im not questioning the honing quality.
So if im still getting great shaves and not being able to feel the sticky feeling...then my stropping needs work?
