stretch the linen?
There has been a slightly annoying matter of the leather being just a bit longer than the linen on my combo strop where I really have to pull tighter than I care to to use the leather side.
I'd like to stretch the linen just slightly and am conjuring up ideas (such as hanging weight from the linen. I had been separating the leather and linen and just holding the linen by hand but I would prefer to have a simple two sided strop I can flip.
Has anyone dealt with this?
I can always drill holes to adjust the leather I suppose.

Shucks. My Dovo Best Quality strop had the opposite condition,
the leather was shorter than the linen after a few weeks. I
then moved into the condo I bought with my wife, and the
strop straightened out again!
It just goes to show that the stars and strops are aligned now
that we're married :D

It's it's one of my older #1 Best strops I have a solution. Visit my website/storefront and look for the Heirloom Quick Fix kit. For $1.50 postage I send along a leather end cap to match the leather of your strop, a second Dee ring and straight strap handle if yours came with that feature and 3 new, shorter screws. You can order right through the site and just specify leather type, width and strap handle or plain Dee.
Unscrew the leather from the linen and use the existing screws with the new end cap and existing linen. use the new shorther screws to secure the leather end now minus the linen. Good as new and each side is free to move separately depending on humidity.
