Neat's foot oil question

i can't find neat's foot oil around here

why is it better than others?

is there other oils i can use instead?

Many will work but the neats foot is one of the best

Its better because it softens the most. Other oils will work nearly as well though.

One common source is baseball glove conditioner.

Lexoil works too.

I would ask at your local hardware store. They should carry a variety of leather care goods.

A Saddle Shop WILL have Neatsfoot Oil. But as Wildtim said, many Hardware Stores carry it too.
I would be willing to bet that any leather crafter's supply store will have it as well.

As the oil is used to condition baseball gloves, you might try a sporting goods store.

went to a saddle shop and found pure neatsfoot oil and non-darkening lexol
