Pastes on a TI paddle strop

Hi guys, I have been wondering about a two sided TI paddle strop I got. I asked which paste I should use and she suggested the red (2-4 microns) and green(6 microns) Dovo pastes. The leathers on the paddle are not just different in color, but in texture too. One rough and one smooth. Were these pastes acceptable? I keep reading about diamond pastes, and wonder if there is any way to remove the dovo pastes and go with the diamond pastes (or should I?, I hate to keep buying stuff). Thanks!
