This was a good day
:tuI have been reading the threads and read the thread about speed when stroping. Today I added a bit more speed to my stroping while still working on the tech. of the stroke. I really hit on something. This was the smoothest shave Ive had since I started using a straight razer.
I used a nice lather and the shapest edge Ive ever had. I had a very nice smooth shave. One pass was all that was needed to take off the stuble. No irratation and just a really enjoyable experience. This is a great way to start your day, this works on so many levels. My day was set on a positive path.

Nice!
Stropping does seem to get easier and faster the more you do it. Last week when I was stropping I was really in the rhythm, and actually closed my eyes to see if I could do it....So it's true, I CAN strop with my eyes closed! :rofl2:

Watch out stropping with your eyes closed you still want to be able to count to 21 after your done.:chop:

Stropping really is very very important. Very important indeed. I am glad to hear that you had an epiphany! A little speed, and sometimes even a little pressure (carefully) when stropping can make a world of difference to your shave.
I have also found a vigorous rubbing of the leather with the ball of the hand immediately prior to stropping can be useful as well.
Congratulations!
James.

Stropping

You have hit on one of the great secrets of getting a good shave. A good strop, well mounted and held correctly with the razor flat against the stop, worked at speed with just the right pressure goes a long way toward the PERFECT SHAVE.
