I just read that, Jimmy, & realised i wasn't sure how i gripped mine exactly. Tried both of your's, old & revelatory new one. I just can't do either! I hold it between the tip & first joint. I guess each to his own!

Yep I am a thumb and forefinger pad stropper, I hold dead center on the first pad of my forefinger too Ben...

It's amazing that what works so well for each of us, can feel so alien when another tries it. I'd have to re-learn stropping if i couldn't use that first pad.
Now where's that poll? It's an extra 10 bucks for the casino!
