    Exclamation Just bought a DOVO...thoughts??

I just purchased my first strop..it is the DOVO paddle style strop. Does anyone know about this or how well it works? Do I still need strop paste? Any thoughts would be very helpful! I got it from www.classicshaving.com

I'm relatively new to cutthroats (6 months) . It seems that in the US hanging strops appear to be the method of choice for everyday use, paddle strops tend to be more popular in Europe. As the majority of SRP forum members tend to be US based, that might explain the lack of response.

If I remember correctly, these are nice little paddle strops. The leather has a nice draw and is pretty soft. I would make sure you keep the razor very flat and you do your X stroke and don't use hardly any pressure on it. Roll the razor on the spine vs. the edge. I would not use any strop paste on it.

    Good luck,

    Lynn
