Just received my Tony Miller latigo/cotton strop and was planning on hanging it from a towel rack in my bathroom. However, my bathroom has no ventilation (window, exhaust fan,..ect.) and I was wondering if the steam and condesation would damage the strop over time?
Water and leather generally don't play nice together. Maybe if it's treated a certain way but I personally wouldn't risk it.
I hang mine in my main closet, then I bring it out when I'm ready to strop... I don't like to leave mine in the bathroom with all of the moisture etc.

Any members who do leave their strop in the bathroom?
I leave the strops that I am using in my bathroon. It's fairly well ventilated, though, as I hardly ever get condensation forming on the mirror or countertops. There is an exhaust fan also mounted within it.
The pair that I have in there right now are a HandAmerican Latigo and a Proforma natural-tanned. As far as I can tell, there is no appreciable cupping, warping, or other problems with the leather.
I leave my strop in the bathroom; I don’t have a lot of condensation in there, and I live in a low relative humidity area. Most of my issues have been with wife and daughter accidently flinging toothpaste on my strop, rather than water on the strop. Maybe keep it in your bathroom and make sure that you leave bathroom door open. And just watch your strop to make sure that you’re not getting a layer of condensation on it, if it does move it to another location.
My "Bathroom" is rather large with a Walk In Closet which has become a "Shave Den" of sorts. I have Shelving in it with my strops attached to it. Humidity and Moisture are not an issue...
Just how humid can bathrooms get? I always figured if one left the door open, it wouldn't stay humid very long, although showering could be a problem.
I guess your solution could be to just sop showering :rofl2:.
Does your bathroom have a closet, even a small one? You could always mount your strop inside the closet if that is the case.
The mirrors in my shaveing den fog up totally when I shower. I kept my latigo strop right there near the shower for two years. Now the strop feels somewhat gummy when I use it. Uneven draw and too much draw. I think I should have kept it away from the moisture more.
