What does the number on these strops mean?

While looking at strops on ebay I noticed that man had a number inside a Laural wreath. I have on such strop so I can show you a picture of what I'm talking about. Are these numbers the model number of the strop or is it some sort of abrasive rating?

I have mostly used strops from the 1960's like the DublDuk #50 and the DublDuk #70.
I also have an Illinois #361 and a very old Geo. Worthington designated a "FINISH" strop

I don't know exactly what the numbers mean but I am presuming the numbers have something to do with the finish of the leather.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me..............

I think they are probably just the company's model ID system, like a simplified serial number.

The Kanayamas use a similar pattern stamp, with the laurel and all (and I imagine that your Naomi is an early Kanayama, O_S, as that's the maker's family name), on some models and I know for sure they just refer to the model #. In the Llama series, this correlates to thickness, but that isn't true across the board....for example, the 1200 used the same leather as the 10000, but it has a handle.

And don't Illinois strops use a similar patter for their numbering?
