You will definately need to strop
before the shave.
As far as after? It's really up to you.
Some guys here do some don't.
Do make sure that you completely
dry the blade after shaving and
stropping will help with this.
The one thing to remember though
when stropping is to take your time
and not hurry - speed means nothing.
And definately make sure that you
keep the blade flat and do not lift
the spine.

There are arguments for and against but nothing definitive has ever turned up. The purpose of stropping after the shave is to dry the very edge of the razor.
Just my two cents,:)
I just give mine a quick wipe with an alcohol-soaked cotton ball. That also removes the soap residue while the cool water splash is drying on my face and I'm choosing an aftershave.

The important thing is to ensure your razor is completely dry before putting it away. Most people don't have the time to let it sit for 20 minutes or so so giving it a few swipes on the strop will do the trick in a few seconds.
Yes this is the most difinitive answer we can give. I presently strop about a dozen laps after wiping the blade down with rubbing alcohol after my shaves. Not like to change any time soon.Quote:
