Can I use a different grit paste one each side of my linen strop? Bleed through?

Hey folks, wonderin if I can get away with puttin a different paste on each side of a linen strop or if one side will bleed through and contaminate the other?
Save me havin to have so many damn strops.
Also has anyone ever found any 3" linen yet other than from Tony Miller?

What about double back leather?? One grit of paste on each side?
How often to reapply?
I'm thinking about starting to make strops here and would like to get all my ducks in a row.

If someone can post links to other posts it would be good too, instead of havin to retype the same thing again and again.
