Strop lost its draw

Well I tried using lather on the strop, tried a little neatsfoot oil, hand rubbing etc. Yesterday I decided to give it a go and I got no improvement in the hht as I get with my roo and latigo srd strops. So I guess the strop is done then? Maybe ultralight sandpaper(1200)? At this point I will try anything as it doesn't improve the edge like it should.

A strop needn't have draw. Many good strops have little or no draw. Draw on my TM latigo strop always increased with the strop conditioner it came with.

But the strop does nothing for the hht. And that means the edge is not being improved. I use hht as I believe that since a razor cuts hair, why not test it cutting hair.

I guess the ONLY thing you can do is send it to me so it doesn't drive you crazy trying to figure it out... :hmmm::rofl2:

I can always load with .1 micron cbn spray! Never tried it on hanging leather.

I did the same thing to my Illinois #127 strop last month after reading a post here on strop lathering. I kept applying and rubbing in the lather until there was none left on the brush. My strop got it's draw back and I like it. I used a glass bottle instead of a mug. I also made the lather using a tallow-rich soap that I purchased from a soap maker.
