My first and only strop is a SRD. When learning to use it, I put some minor nicks on it. These are more like just surface scraps than nicks. I don't feel as if they hurt the performance at all, and I can't feel them while stropping. That being said, would there be any advantage to sanding them out, or should I just leave well enough alone? If I were to sand them, how is that done? Thanks in advance to all.
I have a strop I made from roo leather, I hand sanded it in the first place, using wet and dry.
I got some very minor nicks in it. I carefully removed the flaps with a sharp knife then I sanded over the area with 1200 grit wet and dry very lightly, as far as I can tell its fine, I don't feel or hear any difference when and if I draw over that area.
I would wait for other answers before doing anything, and/or email the supplier.
A photo of the nicks would be helpful to see what they are like. If they are that small and you can't feel them when stropping my guess is you could leave as is. I had some bigger nicks in my first strop that I did as Ed did and cut the flaps off but I used a pumice stone to lightly smooth out the damaged area. If you do decide to use some form of abrasive to repair the nicks be sure to get all the residue of the abrasive off the strop before you use it again.

Excellent advice bob, I missed the bit about removing the abrasive, could have been fairly bad news.
And yes pictures wouldnt be a bad idea, everyone has a different take on minor. :-)
If they don't affect the performance of the strop there is no reason to mess with them. So then it becomes a cosmetic thing and if that bothers you that's another story. When you sand you are removing leather. My take on it is not to mess with it unless I have too.
This is what mine looks like, the damage is all in the same place, fortunately very close to the end, means the razor was getting a bit close to that chunk of brass. Remote is for scale, and the strop is app 3" wide.

i wouldn't mess with them, gives it character.
My personal view is if I use the area 2000 w&d to remove nicks. The smoother the surface the smoother and sharper the razor JMO
