Exactly right, when I upgraded strops I made myself lose the Barber of Seville style I had. My first strop looks like a pit bull's chew toy.

I call my first strop, the Exotic Leopard strop because of all the nicks I had to sand out.
With Pixel's loom, I take my time,,not a nick yet,,,
I think is because of the variables between the hanging, bench, and loom strops we try to intermingle. All have advantages and benefits, yet each must be approached differently.
It seems best to find one and stick with it! (except for those "special" blades!)
It seems good to be an expert of a particular strop. One thing is certain. One has not a need to strop fast. Slow, shure, and accurate is the way to strop. Fast OR Slow!
So WW243, Hirlau has now joined Sharptonn and Darl (Mercilessly Ridiculed thread) in hastening your departure to B&B!

Use the tacky stuff that bank tellers use for their fingertips. Or put a piece of electrical tape on the shank on either side. Me, I roll the razor in my fingers when I flip it, so it repositions twice each lap anyhow.
