Nicking my strop?

I'm new to straight razors and have maybe a dozen shaves under my belt...not to be misread as below the belt. I strop immediately after shaving and again before. I have yet to nick my strop. My question is: how many of you have nicked your strop after gaining some experience. I've always been very cautious, since a nick will drive me crazy. I would imagine it happens as the experience level increases do mainly to overconfidence and lack of attention. Has anyone done it from beginner to experienced without nicking their strop?

I think there was 1 guy that went 5 years with perfect everything. One day he sneezed while shaving and slit his throat. It has been a long time since we heard from him :<0).

I am rooting for you. I am sure this can be done but never heard anybody boasting about it. To error is human.

My first strop got a couple of nicks. My second one I went quite a while without a mark and then I was holding my razor and the D rings on my strop in the same hand while reaching over to turn the tap off and cut it pretty good. Yup razors are sharp and you always need to pay attention to what you do with an open razor.

Yes, overconfidence has been a factor for me.
I didn't find it difficult to learn to strop and I waited close to a year before buying a new strop and thought I had it made.
Well, its about a year into the new strop and it has 3 nicks in it.
Once I nicked the strop when my grip on the end slipped. You would think that the strop would fall unharmed, but it didn't.
The other two were an indirect result of being distracted from my task by an unusual household circumstance.
Its not a difficult task for me but I need to remain focused.
It brings to mind the old saying that women multitask well while men are more single minded.
