Memorize what Neil just told you and march back into that shop. There is nothing like going back into battle armed to the teeth.

Check out Narragansettleathers.com and buy a piece of English Bridle - 3 inch strip by approx. 50 inches long. This will yield two strops for your enjoyment. Forget Latigo. Too stiff for razors in the long run. I will get a few arguments about this opinion. Oh well.................What else is new.......?
Jerry, checked out the website and contacted the owners. He only wanted to sell me a lot of 50 pieces at $5 a piece, with those pieces being scarred. He stated he wasn't selling his nice high quality pieces anymore... Oh well the search continues.
Vegetable Tanned VEG Tan Horsehide Leather Hide Tooling Carving Sheaths Holsters | eBay
Contact this seller and tell him what you want. This fellow is very fair and knows what a strop is.
Tandy Leather, $49 will get you a 3 X 66 in veg tanned leather strip, enough for 3 strops.
There are no Tandy leather stores anywhere close to where I am, although the aforementioned little shop of horrors does carry some of their stock.
Well I followed 10pups advice and went to the eBay seller and purchased some horsehide. Great leather. There were some scars but they were not on any important parts of the leather. i.e. The portions I needed. I was able to make three strops out of the amount I received. After making the strops I trimmed the edges, burnished the leather then applied a small amount of Neatsfoot, rubbing it in with a rag. The results when I stropped last night were amazing. It has more draw than my bench strop from Glen (also a great strop that will now be my pasting strop), and really seemed to put a keenness on the edge. Overall I am one happy customer. Thank you 10pups.
