Does anyone make custom strops?

I'm looking to get a box for all my razor equipment, partly because I'm going to be travelling a lot, and also because it'll stop me buying more than is necessary.

Because of that, I'm looking to get a small 7" x 3" strop made, which will mainly be used for pasted stropping, but also as a normal strop for travelling (smooth leather one side). For everyday stropping, I'll continue to use my hanging strop with leather/ linen.

Because of its small size, it'd be designed to function in the same way as a barber's hone, so no handle. But what kind of material would work well for the pasted side? I've heard that the quality of materials isn't that important if it's going to be pasted.

I would consider making a small paddle with linen and leather, since it is what you are use to. A lot of folks have found supples from Tandy leather. I did not have that option so I found a guy who makes custom holsters. He had a great supply of different materials.

Yeah 7" x 3" is probably custom, and like the post above maybe a home made paddle with tandy leather would do. I have ordered 3" leather from them and it seemed totally usable. Just make sure it's flat and clean.
I think it's perfectly fine if you want to use the leather for pasted also. So maybe one side you put pasted leather (either smooth or the backside) and other is just plain leather.
If you don't need a paddle or 3" wide, you can pick up those Dovo Rindleder stops (or equivalent non-name brand for much cheaper). They're very compact and good for traveling. You can paste the "linen" side if you want, or maybe the back of the leather. I use one of these for traveling.

If I'm going to use paste, does it matter how high or low quality the material is?
I'll try and get a really good, smooth, finishing leather though.
