Does a wrinkle in the surface of a leather strop destroy it's properties for stropping a razor? I've been working the spot over with some neatsfoot oil, but it still feels "raised" when you rub your fingers over it. How do I tell if it's going to affect my stropping ?

Close up photos would help get the right answer.
If you can feel it with your fingers the razor will feel it and that's bad. What makes a strop good is it's being free from such things.
No, wrinkles in a strop will not harm a razor.
You're going to get many varied opinions on this one. I would think that if you can feel it while stropping, it would hurt the edge. My single strop has a few abrasions picked up during my learning curve, but I can't feel them while stropping, and it still does a good job.
I have many strops. Everyone wants for a Tony Miller and they are good strops but there are many vintage strops that are amazing especially the Russinans.Quote:
