I actually have a piece of veg tan leather in the post right now, 24"x6" i was planning on making a lil travel strop with some of it and backing some of it to balsa and making a perma home for crox. I i have not worked with balsa wood since i was a child, i forgot how incredible soft that stuff is. i was sanding a handle into a paddle from a piece of it and i gave it a paper cut with the sand paper :rofl2:

Somebody has to speak up for us "T" totalers, so I'll toss my nickel on the barrel head. All I use is a hone when the need arises after which and before every shave I strop on only the clean linen and clean leather. Pastes are messy to me and I'd prefer not to contaminate my good linen and leather with it. I have some that I use in the shop once in a while for plane blades, chisels or other cutting tools but not on my shave gear. It is simply not needed. Then, this is my own opinion and it works for me every day.
Come on over boys, there is plenty of room.
Regards
Chasmo

There is suede or scrub leather that can be used instead of linen but I still wouldn't be pasting it for daily use
