First DIY Strop, Thanks for the Advice
Here is my first attempt at a leather hanging strop. It is pretty rough, but as I mentioned in another thread I was trying to focus on function so I could get it done.
I made it using a piece of leather my Dad picked up at an Amish leather/saddle shop. The stropping surface is 3" x 2' (24"). The overall length is 31" (2' 7"). I believe that is a bit larger than average, but it seemed like a good length when I was cutting out the main panel. The stainless 2" D Rings and 3/8" Chicago Screws are from Tandy Leather.
I'll probably take it apart and clean in up a some more, but It doesn't look too bad. I had a couple razors honed by Glen (gssixgun) so I was hoping to use it today.
As requested, here are some pics. I put a Zwilling Henckels 50 razor in the picture for reference.
