Red Imp
Along with his grandfathers straight my father in law gave me his strop, a Red Imp 700c. Leather is in remarkable great shape-smooth no nicks. Question I have is should I put any neats oil or any conditioner on it? Also the linen is dry but pliable, what if anything should I put on that. Thanks

If you get the chance post a few pics.
I'll let the strop guys advise on how to treat it.

I treat my strops with neatsfoot oil, and just keep the linen side clean like any cloth material. A picture would help:)

Those are top of the line strops and that goes for the linen too. The best treatment for the linen is some hot water and some detergent and a scrub brush and it will look like new as long as it is just dirty and not deteriorated. The leather strop if dry can use whatever your favorite conditioner is sparingly.

I use a VERY thick lather of unscented tallow based shave cream and work it into the leather until it basically disappears. Then buff the strop with a soft cotton rag. Works a treat.

With enough elbow grease you should be able to get the linen looking like new.
