Anyone know a good source for .5 chromium oxide paste. I prefer the paste over the crayon for use on leather. I saw Mastro Livi has some but it is very expensive.

I never tried it but IIRC either Tony Miller or Keith DeGrau recommended mixing chrom-ox with with neatsfoot oil as a vehicle.
Just googled 'neatsfoot oil as a vehicle for chromium oxide' and came up with a bunch of forum posts, articles, what have you. Seems like a good way but do the google thing and research before putting it on anything you care about.
Kremer Pigments, for pure loose powder, it is not expensive about 10 bucks, mix with a couple drops of mineral or neatsfoot oil to about a half a teaspoon, you don’t need much.
The easiest to apply is the stick from SRD, especially for leather, apply in 3 inch X’s. A one-time application will last years and a stick is a life time supply.
If you search Kremer Pigments in the advanced search you will find several old post with the product numbers for Kremer Pigments.
SRD Chromium Oxide expensive? Its good get it. You wont have to worry about purity or mixed abrasives which all stink tbh I learned the hard way. As Euclid said you wont ever need to buy it again. I also use a dab of neatsfoot oil to work it into leather if thats what you want to do. I have a small herold loom strop that I pasted this way and works great. If you are using the cotton or linen side of your strop don't bother with oil just put it on thinly and no worries also a good substrate for the crayon. Very handy for refreshes before a shave.
Maggard carries the paste.
