Wavey Webbing on SRD Natural

First let me say I am very new to the straight razor world so stropping is a bit of a mystery to me.

I purchased a SRD Natural hanging strop with the matched webbing and I am noticing that when i pull the web taught there are waves in the webbing relational to the screws that hold the webbing. its low where the screws are and high in between. when I lay the razor on the webbing you can see where theres contact and no contact. Any ideas ? maybe pulling webbing too taught? should i ditch the webbing for another type of fabric? I will try to post a pic later but figured I would ask anyway.

Yes, pics would help. Ive never bought from SRD but i bet they would stand behind there product if its an issue you didnt cause.

Your just pulling too tight,, to to be taught but not stretching, maybe you need some be new help,, Pete is in Mass do a member search he's also a mentor, stropping is the most important thing you need to learn to keep your razor shaving well, and it takes some getting used to,, is your razor shaving condition? Tc

My webbing does same. Not SRD, well, Premium Strop Company. Two years old now. You're pulling taught on the handle, of course. Try holding and pulling directly on the web material. See if that doesn't improve things.

I have the same one and you're pulling to taught.

( from what I understand the SRD and PSC are made by the same folks. )

Sorry its taken so long to get back and say thank you for the replies I have taken this advice and seems to have solved my issue. in addition to not pulling so taught I now also hold the leather piece under the webbing to help support it

Remember to go slowly at first so you don't nick your new strop! There are lots of good videos on stropping, if you have not watched any you might want to check them out.
