    Default Kanoyama Strop Appreciation thread

I am hoping to stop by Mr. Naumi's place
to check in on him in the next few weeks.
This craftsman spent seventy years making
Kanoyama cordovan strops and has recently
retired. I was thinking of a way to show my
appreciation and wondered if others would
like to as well. So, here is the plan:

Post a picture of your favorite razor and
a Kanoyama strop. Just one razor and one strop.
Follow the guidelines, please. I will make a PDF of
all of the pictures along with a note of appreciation
in Japanese, get it printed at Kinko's and give it to Mr. Naumi.
The deadline for contributions is April 19th.

    Let's show some love, guys...

I think that would be a lovely tribute. It would be a good idea to start a new thread.
I wonder if Naomi San realises how revered his workmanship is?

Not sure what you mean...isn't this a "new thread"?

Sorry think I've had too many beers! Thought it was a part of another Kanayama thread I was looking at.

    So far,

Just based on a quick search "Kanoyama" there
must be a lot more than 3 members of this forum
    who have a Kanoyama strop.

Think about this... A lone artisan who has labored
away alone in his shop for seventy years. He finally
retires due to age. No party, no gold watch, no one
to recognize his hard work and achievements. If you
know someone on this forum or any other forum who
has a Kanoyama strop, please encourage them to take
a moment, compose a picture and post it on this thread.
It won't cost a dime, just a few minutes of your time...but
it may give an older Japanese gentleman, who sweated
so much for his craft, some joy in his twilight years.

I will extend the deadline a few more days week, until April 25th.
