Which side out when curling a strop for packaging?

I am moving, and I want to package my strop in a box so that it doesn't get damaged. I remember when I got the strop, it was curled loosely (12" diameter circle) but I don't remember which side was facing out. What's the ideal way to package it? It's a Tony Miller practice strop so it's not stiff, but it's not overly bendable because of the thickness.

When I travel I will roll the strop with the leather on the outside of the coil to keep the leather from getting "scrunched". Good luck!

If you do roll it, go with Nun's advice, but it'd be better to pack it flat with your clothes in a suitcase.
