Which is right way to apply diamond pastes

Hy guys I need some help from you. I just recived Thiers Issard 4 sided paddle strop and need some help, which is right way to apply 1 micron, 0,5 micron diamond pastes and chromium oxide paste?
Which paste on which leather side of the strop, or it is not really matter?
Every side is marked with dots (the roughest side has 4 dots, and smooth one has 1 dot). Thank you.

Tough question. I'm guessing and sort of stating what I would do. First apply a very very small amount.

I would:

1 dot- leave clean
2 dot- one of the . 5 probably crox
3 dot- 1 micron
4 dot- leave clean

Steve Dempster at The Invisible Edge would be able to give you some advice about that.

hey, I was actually just wondering about this - I just read the Wiki article on strop pasting (Pasting a strop - a photo tutorial - Straight Razor Place Wiki), and the author (Josh Earl) puts *much less* CrOx on than I've seen elsewhere. For example, in the videos by Jockeys and--I *think*--on Lynn's DVD. In the Wiki tutorial, there are just a few hints of green - something like 5% of the surface is colored green. In the videos I mentioned, the surface is covered 100%. Josh says the reason he uses less is it prevents dulling or overhoning.
