DIY Strops! Finally!

So, I remember this used to be a fairly common topic.. DIY Strop kits... People who wanted to use their own leather component, but needed endcaps, D rings, handles, hanging assemblies... Any of that stuff... Well I'm going to be getting a leather blank from a friend soon, and fabric from another location, but need to find the right top-hanging (the clasp) assembly... I went over to Tony Miller's webpage to send him an email, begging for the location of where he buys his strop hardware from since he's now not doing strops as a business...

Lo and behold, he now sells handles, end caps, and d-rings as DIY kits!

Thanks for the info, I will click on the site just as soon as I"m done tapping out this note, A shaver can NEVER have to many sources for his hobby, I always say!! Medina OH? Eh? Didn't Lynn A. used to live near you?? Maybe I'm mistaken, any who, have a great shave, today and every day!!!

Lynn used to live 7 minutes from me... 'Twas a dark day when he moved indeed!

Fortunately I still have SRD 15minutes away :D

He says a little about what's going on with the strop business on his website. Just scroll down to the section about the hardware available and strops.

I believe that he now makes strops whenever he feels the urge (Not too often) so he's selling off the excess, and keeping a bare minimum, if that.

While I'm very upset that I'll never be able to own one of his strops, works of art I think, I"m very happy he's doing what he needs to do to get his life working smoothly. All the best.

I have to say, i think i am the person that bought his last strop and feel very fortunate indeed to have it. I am doing everything in my power to preserve his work of art.

They are, indeed, fine strops... I have both of his offered models, Latigo (with linen) and Horsehide (with Nylon). Never would sell them while he was still in business, definitely won't now that he's done.

I have been looking for a kit just like this for awhile, thanks for the link!
